Vistara team welcoming the 1 millionth passenger
at Delhi Airport
|
Vistara, the Tata-Singapore Airlines joint
venture full service carrier, has crossed the milestone of flying the first
million passengers today. The airline started its operation on 9 January 2015
and currently flies 311 weekly flights to a network of 12 destinations with a 9
aircraft fleet. It achieved the millionth flier on the 349th day of its
operations, at least 2 weeks before it completes the first year. For a
relatively new airline its a great achievement to have 1 million passengers
flown. This blogger has already predicted it earlier that Vistara going to
cross the million passenger mark by the end of 2015.
Mr. Biplove Choudhary who was flying on
the morning Delhi-Mumbai flight UK997, chosen as the lucky millionth flier. He
was welcomed by the senior Vistara officials including CEO, Phee Teik Yeoh and
CHRO, S Varadarajan at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. And he has been
given a free-upgrade to Business-class for his journey today and presented with
a Club-Vistara Gold frequent flier membership. Earlier on 2
occasions Vistara had celebrated in the similar fashion when it achieved the
first 1 Lakh fliers on 31 March 2015 and 5 Lakh passengers on 20 August 2015.
