As per Route Dispersal Guidelines (RDG)
laid down by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, India, all pan-India scheduled
carriers are required to deploy their capacity in the following way.
CAT-II routes: Minimum 10% of the capacity deployed on CAT-I routes.
CAT-IIA routes: Minimum
1% of the capacity deployed on CAT-I routes.
CAT-III routes: Minimum
50% of the capacity deployed on CAT-I routes.
CAT-I routes
Following 12 routes are recognised as CAT-I routes.
1 Delhi-Mumbai
2 Delhi-Kolkata
3 Delhi-Bengaluru
4 Delhi-Chennai
5 Delhi-Hyderabad
6 Mumbai-Bengaluru
7 Mumbai-Kolkata
8 Mumbai-Chennai
9 Mumbai-Hyderabad
10 Mumbai-Trivandrum
11 Kolkata-Bengaluru
12 Kolkata-Chennai
CAT-II
routes
Routes to North-East India, Jammu & Kashmir, Andaman &
Nicobar islands and Lakshadweep islands from other parts of India.
CAT-IIA
routes
Routes within North-East India and Jammu & Kashmir.
CAT-IIA routes
All other routes are CAT-III routes.
